Stillwater Police Chief Shannon Jordan announced he will retire in January 2025, in alignment with his retirement plan established prior to promotion of Chief in July.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me and have been honored to serve as Chief these past several months. I will forever hold close the foundation we’ve built and continue to solidify,” Stillwater Police Chief Shannon Jordan said. “At the forefront – our officers safeguard the community and each other, while building relationships and gaining trust, with exceptional courage and moral fortitude. I am proud to have served with them and for Stillwater.”
Chief Jordan has been with the Stillwater Police Department (SPD) for more than 32 years and served as Assistant Chief since January 2019.
“We will miss Chief Jordan’s leadership and appreciate his great many years of service in our community,” interim City Manager Brady Moore said. “He drives positive change, fosters accountability, and has left an imprint of service above self.”
Jordan’s years of service to Oklahoma and our country are vast. Jordan served in the Army National Guard from 1983 to 2012, when he retired as Lt. Colonel after 29 years.
“I’m looking forward to much more time with family and friends, hunting, and fishing,” Jordan said.
Chief Jordan and wife Gina have 5 children together and 10 grandchildren.
City Management and Human Resources will lead a nationwide search to fill the position.
