Sci-fi film club launches new season with classic TV series screenings
The Stillwater Public Library’s (SPL) long-running science fiction film club will kick off a new series in October featuring various iterations of “Star Trek.” Attendees will screen the first episodes of four different shows on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., starting on Oct. 17.
Since its inception in 2014, the Sci-Fi Film Club has been meeting at the library to watch old and new science fiction films. Genres shown have ranged from time travel to creature features. This series takes a different approach by highlighting a TV series.
Each program in the series will usually include a screening of the first episode of each show, followed by a group discussion led by SPL librarians.

Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided by the Friends of the Stillwater Public Library. Attendees may bring snacks to share with the group.

All films will be free and open to the public; however, anyone under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.
The Stillwater Public Library is located at 1107 S. Duck St. Library hours are Monday- Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
