Thousands of orange, white, and every kind of mutant gourd in between was unloaded Friday morning. The truck came around 10 a.m., earlier than expected. Tractors, mowers, and wagons were deployed to move the pumpkins onto palettes spread across the front lawn of Highland Park Methodist at 524 N. Stallard.
This is the ninth year the Stillwater Noon Lions have put on this event to bring people together across the community to serve and celebrate the season. The fundraiser runs from September 21 through October 31.
Carriage rides, pumpkin carving, and rustic barn family photo ops are all part of the festivities. And the best part? Volunteers make it all happen.
All are welcome and admission is free. Proceeds from pumpkin, mums, and baked good sales will help fund local scholarships.
