Bobby’s Burgers Big Night

Bobby’s Burgers Big Night
Eager customers hoping to get a burger before they sell out on Friday, Jan 17.

A long line of familiar faces from Stillwater’s biking scene turned out Friday night, Jan. 17, to support Bobby Wintel at the first—and possibly only—Bobby’s Burgers pop-up at Good Little Eater. The idea started as a joke from Bobby’s friend Casey Robertson, who designed a logo for him. Others who knew his love for cooking burgers leaned in and encouraged him to do it.

On the menu that night were specialized caramelized onion organic beef burgers and fries. Bobby’s Burgers T-shirts and desserts were also on sale.

The line stretched down to the alley between Empire Pizza and Tokyo Pot and eager patrons waited in the unusually warm early evening air as the line inched along. Every so often, Mr. Bobby himself, drenched in sweat from the grill, would run out and shout and cheer on the crowd and thank them for coming.

Inside Good Little Eater it was standing room only. The kitchen helpers were all dressed in Bobby’s Burgers T-shirts and hats, busily and joyfully milling about the cashier and calling out names. The last few customers made it in just before they sold out.

A Bobby Burger. Not a food photographer, but it tasted great!

Will Bobby’s Burgers return? I asked around, but that remains a mystery. But even if it was a one-time thing, it was well worth the cheat day. I hope we haven’t seen the last of Bobby’s Burgers.

Update!
As of Jan 30, Mr. Wintel told me that "We will absolutely do "Bobby's Burgers" as a pop up again." The date isn't set but stay on the lookout for updates.
